The many advantages of GBBR membership include:

Continuing Education
Advanced Training
Market Statistics
Professional Standards and a Code of Ethics

If you have not taken a NAR Ethics or new member orientation within the past 4 years. You will need to complete the Ethics orientation class.

The class is held 8-12 times a year. See Education Schedule for upcoming dates.

You would need to fill out a change form to update GBBR of the change. that form is located under the Member Forms. You can fax that form in to (203) 365-0198.

There are 2 MLS's that we service and support. GFC, CLMS and statewide CTMLS. We are service centers for both MLS's. You can contact either MLS board directly. You can find links to these sites under the MEMBERS ONLY button on the left panel of this site.

We have classes available that allow new agents to learn pertinent information that will help them in the real estate industry and get answers to day to day activities that textbooks won’t teach you. Click here to see our list of scheduled courses.

Membership FAQ

First you need to have an active real estate license and place it with a member broker. Next, you need to complete the Greater Bridgeport Board "Membership Form" and have your broker sign it. You can then mail or fax it to the board with your dues and entry fee or bring it in in person (if you fax it, you must include a credit card # for payment). The fees are as follows: Entry fee $XXX Annual Dues $XXX.00 (prorated according to the month in which you join). If you are a broker or certified appraiser, you will need to complete the "Application" form. The above fees are the same.

Yes, the $XX fee is a mandatory assessment by the National Association of REALTORS®. This fee funds a nationwide public awareness campaign that includes TV network and cable ads, as well as radio ads highlighting the value a REALTOR® brings to a transaction and stresses the importance of using a REALTOR®.

If you have been terminated from the board for over 1 year, you will have to apply as a new member and pay the initial fees again ($XXX entry fee and dues). You will need to complete the "Membership Form" and have your broker sign it. If you have been terminated for over 1 year, but have been paying the "HOLD fee" of $XX each year, you will not have to pay the $XXX entry fee. You will only need to complete the "Membership Form" and pay the prorated annual dues for the current year. If you have been terminated for less than 1 year, complete the "Membership Form" and have your broker sign it. You will need to pay the prorated annual dues if they have not been paid during the current calendar year. If your dues have been paid for the current year, then there is no fee to reinstate.

Annual Dues are due on October 1 for the following year. You have until November 30 (or close of business on the last business day of Nov.) to pay them without penalty, however, if the dues are not paid before December 1, a $50 late fee will be added to your dues bill. If the dues are not paid before January 1st (by close of business on the last business day of the previous year), your membership will be terminated and there is an additional $100 re-instatement fee and a $50 late fee added to the dues to reinstate on or after January 1. If your dues are not paid before February 1, the reinstatement fee will be raised to $350 plus the dues amount in order to re-join. In addition, active agents with unpaid dues as of February 1st may cause the broker's membership to be terminated as a result.
